...A little. I do wish I could've talked to them more, though. Sidon-san was just a nice guy to be around, and Ubert-san always seemed open to learning new things. I liked them both.
Could be because he's quiet. Viktor-san was too, you know? We know whoever's doing these things is being influenced somehow, so maybe... maybe it was that they didn't know him that well, and that made him an easier person to target.
...I don't like that idea, but. It's one possibility, I guess.
I don't like it either, but it does make an unfortunate amount of sense. If you have to go after someone, you pick someone you don't know. Easier to handle, and easier to take care of if something goes wrong. I don't want to assume that's how this went, but...I don't think it's wise to shy away from thinking about motivations to get us started. Especially when we can't investigate ourselves yet.
[ what kazuki doesn't say is that maybe it isn't rational like that at all. maybe it's just a name, or who happened to be in the room with them. maybe it's just bad luck. ]
It's insane that they won't let us look into things earlier. Nine hours is already so little time. They're just deliberately setting us all up for failure.
[ wrong place and wrong time. not a sentiment he's unfamiliar with, but he's ignoring that for what he thinks he knows right now. ]
There has to be a way to override their protocols and let us at least help with the initial investigation. If we're going to be doing a trial anyway, shouldn't we be going in a little more prepared?
Neither do I, but...I keep doing it anyway. We already know it's bound to be a mess, but...there has to be something we can do to make it less terrible.
Here's hoping... It's bad enough that people are dying at all, but to be controlled into being the one to kill? That's even worse. And now there might be two of them...?
The fact that there's two of them is what's worse. We need to focus on finding the trigger for this and seeing if we can stop it before it becomes...I don't know. Three next time. Or worse.
It's all by design. Nobody's meant to win here, and I don't know if it's meant to make us mad at each other but that was never gonna really happen. You can't paint someone as a villain when...I don't know. Things were out of their control or even if someone were to defend themselves.

[ or they'll die. simple enough. it's not that different from shinjuku, in that way. ]
At least we know there's not someone on this ship killing people just because they want to.

Yeah. It makes it both easier and harder to deal with, I think. We know it's not their fault, but it's still happening.

...I hate that we have to think about things like this at all.
