[ she's back at the church after it's been cleaned up. she looks pretty bummed. tokunaga is here with her, also looking pretty sad with its head all bandaged up. ]
Yeah...
I guess there wasn't going to be any good ending to that, but...
Rodya's side of things, but in the end it was both of them. Gregor told me it was stuff they both experienced a while ago. That was the anomaly we went through.
[ ... ]
But I saw some of his memories during that week we were all sharing, too.
That sounds right. When Gregor thought I was a lot younger he held back around me, too. After we got back from the City, he came to talk to me about everything that happened out there. Guess he figured that since I went through it he didn't have to hide much anymore.

...but it's still kind of frustrating sometimes. At least for me. [ people trying to "protect you" when you just want to try and know them better and understand them. ]
... Yeah. Being treated like a kid all the time... sometimes it's not so bad, because people are extra nice to you? But then sometimes it's really annoying, because they act like you can't handle anything...
... and it's really hard to hate people like that, because you know they only act that way because they're nice people...
[ looks at execution. maybe it was better for anise not to know the horrors, actually. ]
Yeah...I'm not going to lie to you, I haven't told a lot of people because when they think you're a kid they tend to leave you alone. [ it's a survival thing at this rate. ] But then it's the opposite end of the spectrum. They think they're saving your innocence without thinking about the fact that maybe those kids have seen a lot of terrible things to begin with. Everybody's different.
[ ... ] ...Gregor's definitely one of the nicest though. About everything. He, um. [ ... ] We have some stuff in common that I don't think anybody else could possibly understand, and when he found out he was really great about it. Honestly I think if you ever asked he'd probably tell you more if that's what you wanted.
[ maybe not now because a man is dying tomorrow, but...last chances and all. ]
I know. I figured. [ he doesn't have the full landscape of what anise has gone through, but he can guess. there's also a lingering pause. ] There's still time. Even if it's only until tomorrow, that's time enough. Don't be afraid to use it however you want.
[ even if it's just bullying gregor, apparently. maybe trying to treat things a little more normally could help. ]

Yeah...
I guess there wasn't going to be any good ending to that, but...
[ this sucks. ]

But knowing how it'd end doesn't make it easier. [ ... ] I'm not exactly happy it's Gregor either. It feels...wrong, I guess.

... You experienced some of his memories before, right? Or... something that came from them.

Hehe. Yeah. I mean, even I... -- you know.
[ she's seen some shit. ]
Maybe you're right. I probably let him off too easy before!

[ she will pester the shit out of this poor man on death row and then torture him with spicy food. ]
Thanks, Shoma.

Sure. No waiting and no regrets, I guess. But try to go a little easy on him.
[ the tone says he does not think she has to or that she's going to and that this is not his problem so it's okay. ]
