If that's the case, wouldn't it be better to send an astronomical number just to make sure? In case they fumble with the vessels on their end, too.

Depending on what they are we could do way more. I'm not sure how the vessels are going to work, if they'll have to split themselves amongst a few or what, but it can't hurt. A couple hundred's not the worst plan.

We're accounting for loss and breakage. I don't think there's a size limit? So something portable but not microscopic's a good start.

We should look around the strip mall and see if there's anything we can use. It'll be easier to get over to them, too, if it's not something we have to haul back onto the ship from the planet itself.

The strip mall has so much junk, we'll probably find something. It'll just have to be something that has a lot for us to use. Knick-knacks, maybe?

So what I'm hearing is that later we should get everybody together for a group field trip. Knick-knacks might be our best route.

We are being watched. Maybe they'll already know ahead of time what we're doing for them.

I think they could use a surprise anyway. They keep giving us stuff we have to figure out on our own, so why not?

I can believe they didn't know it would turn into hundreds of rats. But if they left a note for Charles, then they might've worried it could do something.

If they suspected then you'd think they'd generalize it. Like "hey, may not be as intended" or something. Then we could've decided if Yuri was the right person for this.

She can handle herself for most things. But I don't even think she'd be able to account for a bag of biting rats, so-- a proper warning would've been handy.

I'm sure they're going to get an earful from a bunch of us when they get back anyway.

...the good thing is we still have time to prepare for their return. However we want to. That's something to consider.

We don't actually know when they're coming back, do we? Just that we have the set up to bring them back.

Yup. It's going to be as much of a surprise to us as it is to everybody else, I think. Unless somebody knows something I don't.

But I don't know if he connected with them outside of that seance earlier in the week. [ his boyfriend is alive again, after all. ]

Doubt it. I think most of us are approaching our jobs a little differently this week while we're working on the set-up. I did mine Sunday but that was before we all got together.

Yeah. I can still put cameras around, and I expect I’ll get up early to check them but— it’s not like other weeks where I’m trying to guess where someone might decide to murder someone.
