Yeah, that's true. But this still isn't the worst selection of stuff for anybody who wants something fast. Especially with how much new stuff just became available to us.

Pretty sure he's just pointing out you probably shouldn't sneak up on kids. [ he says, like a shithead. but he doesn't seem fussed and instead continues to browse. ] As someone who's ended up trying a lot of kinds of instant noodles, you eventually do realize some taste better than others. Kinda wonder how space noodles are.

People’ll do anything to avoid the mess hall food. Maybe we should just set up a ton of noodles there and see which ones are more popular.

It'd be an interesting experiment. Everybody else is setting food out still for whatever reason and people seem to be taking the bait. [ which. why do y'all do this. ignore that the mess hall food is disgusting, but still. ] We could have a few standard ones and a few more unusual ones and see if people are feeling adventurous.

Not sure why people trust random food that’s just been left out, but some people really hate cooking. [ wow ] What, like your usual soy, chicken and then the weird ones I can’t pronounce and see what happens?

Then some people really can't be mad if one of those times they eat something less than flavorful. [ people!! ] But yeah. Leave them out, don't label them for people, and find somewhere to watch to see what they go for and how they react.

for normal flavours, he’s grabbing that spicy carbonara one and a soy based one. for not normal, strawberry shortcake, tiramisu and roast dinner flavours.

[ there can also be some beef noodles as a normal treat... and so he returns to shu with his arms full of noodles. ]

This should be enough to sample, right? [ he's just. glancing at the ones shu has. ] Those are perfect.

I don't even want to know who came up with tiramisu noodles.

But -- yeah, this is a pretty good spread. And they'll keep until we're ready to do the blind taste test.

A masochist, probably. [ thanks. ] It should be a day nobody's expecting anything weird so that they aren't guided by suspicion. Let them think it's just normal noodles for anyone to share.

Should be fine. It'll be after whatever work we have to do, too, so people will probably be more relaxed anyway.

If that's what sends them off the deep end then aren't we doing everyone a public service by finding out now? When you think about it that way, this is a good thing.

Yeah. It's always something small, right? Like the thing you wouldn't expect. And then usually when it happens then people start over and rebuild their threshold.

We've been here a little over a week and three people are dead with no real good explanation yet. We might be pretty close.
