Luke's a whole different story that I still don't understand, but there's no way Scien was completely himself when this happened. It just doesn't explain why Dahut was also awake.
There's definitely something else going on here, that's for sure. It's just-- what? Maybe it's some weird concept of fairness. If someone wakes up with a goal, intentional or not, to attack someone, that someone's given the chance to fight back.
