...real cats look more like what Arthur has, but some people design service bots like these to be cuter when they're dealing with the public. Something about making them more approachable, I think.
[ ganbare, roboji... go stalk your new friend. he places a hand on the serving robot, stopping it in place like a cat stops a mouse with its paw. it makes a =^ >_< ^= sort of expression. ]

Yeah, that's one way of looking at it. I mean...the ship probably shouldn't have a cute design either but you get it. [ he nods though. ] I guess when I was designing him I wasn't thinking too hard about it, but I did want to make him more like a person and less like a machine. Even if I wasn't thinking about taking him out in public a lot at home.

He's nice to have around sometimes when I'm at home.

Hm... [ he actually seems to ponder this one for a moment. ] He has helped me out before with some pretty big tasks I can't do myself, so it's nice to have an extra set of hands. [ there's a brief pause, and he seems to be looking at the catbot and roboji both. ] I'm home by myself most of the time, so I used to use his predecessor to help me with chores and stuff. It was also a good way to test what they're capable of.
