Believe it or not it's more advanced than Roboji. [ roboji, in a corner, suddenly slumps its shoulders in mock sadness before it goes back to ignoring shoma to shadow a catbot as it goes to pick up an empty tray. ]
...real cats look more like what Arthur has, but some people design service bots like these to be cuter when they're dealing with the public. Something about making them more approachable, I think.
[ ganbare, roboji... go stalk your new friend. he places a hand on the serving robot, stopping it in place like a cat stops a mouse with its paw. it makes a =^ >_< ^= sort of expression. ]
I see... I suppose the ship is a machine, and feels less welcoming. [ because it doesn't make cute faces. ] Is that why Roboji has a—personality?
[ roboji throws both of its arms into the air and does a spin. wheee!!!
shoma just sort of shakes his head, but he watches sidon and the cat robot. poor nyanya...stuck in place. life's not fair, is it? he does nothing to free the catbot because it's easier to study it this way. ]
Yeah, that's one way of looking at it. I mean...the ship probably shouldn't have a cute design either but you get it. [ he nods though. ] I guess when I was designing him I wasn't thinking too hard about it, but I did want to make him more like a person and less like a machine. Even if I wasn't thinking about taking him out in public a lot at home.
[ poor nyanya may you be in peace and not have to run into eunhyuk a bunch of times this week
that icon almost looks like it could be a like, nya :3 also ]
That's wonderful, isn't it? It makes him feel more like a companion! [ he thinks roboji is cute and it's fascinating to think of how shoma crafted him—that this robot's demeanor is something deliberately designed. how does that reflect on its maker? ] Is Roboji your friend?
[ i love you sidon. also glad i lost this on my other computer nooo anyway. ]
Yeah...that's...definitely true. [ the way he says this seems to indicate that perhaps, yes, that was the point. ] I don't know if I'd say we're friends the way I am with some of my other friends who're...y'know, human, but I think it still counts a little. He's nice to have around sometimes when I'm at home.
Even if it's different, he's a valuable ally! [ he looks over the catbot, which does not seem to want to be friends, actually. it wants to fetch plates. ] I'm glad he could keep you company—is he... something like an assistant as well? You seem very in-tune with each other.
Hm... [ he actually seems to ponder this one for a moment. ] He has helped me out before with some pretty big tasks I can't do myself, so it's nice to have an extra set of hands. [ there's a brief pause, and he seems to be looking at the catbot and roboji both. ] I'm home by myself most of the time, so I used to use his predecessor to help me with chores and stuff. It was also a good way to test what they're capable of.

Not around Zora's Domain! And never like this—is it like Roboji!?
[ every robot here is a roboji descendant ]
