I think it might be like this because it's the furthest away from us. It's been locked away with no human involvement -- room 20's kinda the same, it was sealed off and no one went in there for weeks. And when we did, it was all fleshy.
Maybe it just does best when it's left alone to grow.
Like an incubation period. [ that makes sense and he hates that. not enough that he won't venture in a little further just to look around, but he hates it anyway. ]
Have we followed up with room 20 at all? I still don't get why that was sealed off in the first place.
Yeah. Maybe room 20 belonged to Truegust initially or something so that when he became infected it spread. Quarantine makes the most sense, especially if our Senior Crew wouldn't remember.
Truegust was held in the Brig when he committed murder, from what I remember. But he was patient zero, so-- that could've been his room yeah. It being closed off for this long suggests something happened that people didn't want to think about, or that it became somewhere people didn't want to go.
Yeah, exactly. If it manifested there first before he went and did the first murder, it could have spread in the room and then got sealed in an attempt to not let it spread further.

[ that's a no on asking exactly why. ] I imagine it happened before the Senior Crew were positioned to guide us, so they might not know either.
