...it was different than last time. We at least knew we were going, and Io told us we had to clear up a CEM storm so we could keep going. We had to go to another planet and find the source of the storm to remove it entirely. But the whole thing was...pretty bad. [ ... ] We had to go inside a slaughterhouse that doubled as a prison.

I know the last CEM storm mission went south but-- a slaughterhouse prison?

The plant. We had to go in there to find the source because it was at the bottom under it. But the whole planet was, like, diseased. Everything we saw wasn't what we thought it was...it was hot and rotting and there were monsters after us.

It feels like more and more of these missions have had a similarity -- of something diseased or infected trying to get you guys as well.

Yeah...once or twice I could understand, but it's a repeating pattern now. We had to uproot the source to get rid of it. But getting there...it wanted us to become a part of it.

Yeah. It was...way, way too similar.

That's not a great sign, is it?

Definitely not. We can take it as a warning, maybe, but...it is uncomfortable to think that this may be exactly what we're going to have to deal with.

At least we have one obvious sign from this -- if we find a core, we need to get rid of it.

Even if the core might really be another monster?

Might be easier to deal with a monster you can kill than something more complicated.

If the monster's really wrapped around the Eudora though, that's going to make it complicated. But I guess that's also true. It's better than what we might've initially thought.

Sounds like it can be dealt with, one way or another. We just have to come up with a way to do it. Wrapped around the Eudora or not.

With as minimal damage as possible though. That's going to be the trick. [ no hurting unnecessary beings or ais... ]

Sometimes there's going to be damage. [ looks at the explosives discussion. ] But we can try and minimise it.

That should be the goal, Shu. [ the way he says it is an implication that he knows this is likely not as easy as he wants it to be. ]
