Pink lotuses are ofter used as a sleep aid. They're often used in combination with other psychedelic or smart drugs. A few lotus leaves can get you pretty high.

Yeah. [ ... ] When I was talking to Dion the Saturday before his execution, he told me that his anger simmered down and he was more himself once Margaret was dead, but that if she'd gotten back up to fight him again he would've kept going until he succeeded.

Figured it was kill or be killed. That might be why Sheba— well, Haze I guess, lashed out at Shouxue at the end of their fight. Haze was always with Sheba, it could be that whatever amped up her anger did the same for Haze and it needed that final blow. [ also me like or britt and ara just wanted mutual takedowns. soots them. ]
Haze hasn’t been causing an issues since, as far as I know. Kazuki hasn’t said he woke up to find it trying to headbutt him to death or anything like that.
We don't know that the simulation room isn't altering things either. That was the first time they'd moved locations on us. For all we know, something about that particular set-up triggers the instinct again, too.
