[ this is. so wholesome that it very nearly knocks him on his ass actually. his jaw clicks shut softly, the question curbed when todomatsu answers immediately and for a moment shoma's thinking about this. ]
I'm glad for that, at least. Parents are pretty good to have around. [ it's idly said, and he's aware it sounds stupid out of context but he does have thoughts on family. wow. wonder why. but there's a little amused noise that follows. ] To be completely honest I wouldn't say you're missing much. Being independent's not exactly easy. But...it'll have to happen eventually, right? You'll be a little more prepared then.
[ this anime is truly 85% crazy bullshit and 15% feelings. ]
I don't know. Maybe? [ if they were from a normal world, yes, but maybe they'll just stay in their twenties forever and their parents won't get any older either. ] There've been a couple of times where we actually made legitimate steps toward independence, but then everything just got reversed in the next episode and we fell back into the same rut again. Feels like we make less of an effort every time.
[ they're all shit, what else is new.
he frowns a little as he thinks over what shoma just said, though. ]
I guess the question then is if you're happy with that. [ shoma knows himself and knows that would probably drive him insane, but some people don't mind something more limited. ] There's...a lot of you. It's almost easier to fall back into what you're used to.
[ sometimes it's just like that. but he shakes his head. ]
No. My sister stops by a lot to visit but she lives with our mom.
[ yeah, that's the problem. he's self aware enough to know he can and should be doing more, and he's historically been the only one to make an effort on his own and of his own volition. but being surrounded by five unmotivated people makes it way too easy to fall into their pace, and once he's been dragged down, it's hard to get himself to want to get back up. ]
Ah... that's nice that you have her, at least.
[ though part of him is just like "damn this really is a ship full of people with sisters and sad lives, what the fuck" ]
Do you at least have a roommate or something? I mean, you're not completely by yourself, are you?
[ self-awareness is a step? but also, yeah. yeah it really is a ship full of people with sisters and sad lives, especially given there's a very faint blip of an emotional feedback of melancholy when todomatsu says that. we are ignoring it. that is not a thing to focus on. ]
Yeah, she's great when she can be around. [ but again, shaking his head. ] It's just me. I've been on my own for a while now.
[ oh i forgot emotionshare. shoma probably felt him having extremely mixed feelings during all my bracket text back there, then. sometimes he thinks having such an easy life is totally great and other times he is deeply ashamed and depressed. ]
Oh... wow. Um. Sorry?
[ why aren't you with your mom if she's still around though... ]
[ this is fair. and understandable. he's not sure how he'd feel if he was in a similar situation so it's not like he can say anything.
although he sort of shrugs. i, too, would love to know why the hell he never went to live with his mom but aini really just said no. ]
It's okay. I've gotten used to it? It was...pretty hard at first because I was still in elementary school but I just ended up watching a bunch of ViewQube tutorials for stuff I needed to know. And my sister was helping with bills and groceries and everything. So when I get back I'll have to start picking up where she left off.
There wasn't really much of a choice. [ and he doesn't quite get to explain the thing about his sister yet because this appears until 14:25. the wink psync isn't visible and the conversation with aiba and mizuki isn't heard but it's fine.
[ ah... the experimentation stuff is a surprise to him, because shoma had always seemed pretty normal to him, aside from being super smart. but that's none of his business and way outside his wheelhouse, so unless shoma wants to talk about that, todomatsu is fine just focusing on the lighter part of that.
(i'm not sure if he actually saw an image of mame but if he did he thinks she's cute as hell.) ]
[ that's fair. he's gotten used to it by now, since memshare the first time kind of made it so that he had to explain whether he wanted to or not. he's told some people on his own, too. but all the same he does know it's still awkward so he easily picks up the other thread of conversation.
also, i think amame's perfect so yes, he can have seen an image of her because she's cute as hell. ]
Mostly whenever she feels like letting herself in. [ dry. ] We've known each other for a while, so she probably thinks that's permission to just do whatever she wants.
[ granted, that memory is a good example of why mizuki does things and it's because shoma just lets her. and he figures, for clarity: ]
We ended up going to different high schools, but we still see each other enough.
