As much as I hate to admit it, that is actually a solid theory. [ it should not be. ] We know the ship is expanding every week and that there've been a lot of problems with security and getting access to certain things at certain times. I wouldn't be surprised if, somehow, the whole thing was slowly overwriting itself to do what it thinks is right.
